Allowing manager access to user’s email stealthily
Environment: Exchange 2010 SP1, Outlook 2010 Pro Plus We have a manager that needs access to a user’s live email box without that user knowing about it (suspected wrong doing). Obviously, we could give the manager Full Access permission in Exchange but if the manager accidentally clicks on an unread item or deletes something then it might give it away that they are accessing it. Also, we can’t add the manager as a reviewer to [...]

Where exactly are the Outlook configuration settings contained in a Windows 7 Office 2010 user profile? I want to move a user from Win 7 Office 2010 to Win 8 Office 2013 but rather than keep the whole user profile I would rather start with a new Win 8 profile and just add back the Win 7 Outlook configuration if that is possible. Asked by NickC The key you need is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles [...]

Last Friday our Exchange server was migrated, by our external system administrator, to a new server, with a new server name. Since then we have problems with the calendar/mail items that were created/sent/received on the old server: Reply to mails get bounced if we use auto complete in the To field. If we cancel auto complete and manually enter the (same) e-mail address then there’s no problem. Our system administrator says this is because auto [...]

I would want to set the out-of-office automatic response to all emails that arrive to our info@domain.com. currently in the Outlook, I only have one mailbox (the user mailbox) but it has 2 shared mailboxes setup. I have tried to create a Rule that says: for all email received on account info@domain.com forward to user ekp@domain.com and make that user to set up the Out-of-office message, but it simply did not work, and I suspect [...]

Alright, all research thus far has failed me, this must be a somewhat obscure problem. I think I am close but I need an answer as to whether or not what I am trying to do is possible so I don’t waste more of my time if I am heading down a dead end. Here is the situation. I have been asked by the powers that be to disable the “Mobile Options” in Outlook 2010 [...]

I have office 2010 and Exchange 2010. I have send as permissions and Full access rights to a few mailboxes (System and Spam boxes mainly) with Office 2010 it adds in the additional mailboxes by default if you have full access etc. I use my desktop mainly for Mail etc, but sometimes need to use a laptop for console config etc and check mail. My problem is that it adds in the additional mailboxes in [...]

I’ve searched online and on ServerFault, but cannot track down any explanations or solutions. In Outlook 2010, in a folder under the Inbox, the name in the “From” field is empty, even though other messages from that same person have the name populated in the From field. The user said she may have moved some of these from out of the Sent items folder, but I am unable to reproduce it. Is there a way [...]

Our IT environment provides 10 shared, Microsoft Windows 7 laptops for an office staff of several hundred people. After checking-out and logging into a laptop with an Active Directory domain account, office staff frequently run Microsoft Outlook 2010. However, the first time office staff do this, Microsoft Outlook 2010 prompts the user to create and configure their local account. This takes just several clicks, as Microsoft Outlook 2010 auto-detects the office staff member’s Microsoft Exchange [...]

This is my first foray into E2010 retention policies and I am unsure I understand it all completely. What I am hoping to do is turn off AutoArchive for users within my organization. I suppose many of you have seen this: AA is on, it pops up, and silos a bunch of mails on the user’s computer. Over the years, I’ve found various ways to turn it off that have mostly worked but they’re solutions [...]

there’s an sbs2008&exchange2007, client is Outlook2010 It’s all running with a subdomain (ex. mail.company.com) so the “sites” are reachable under mail.company.com. the certificate is selfsigned. Active Sync with mobile devices is working. autodiscover is working. mail.company.com/owa is working (without certificate issues) only Problem is a PopUp when starting Outlook2010 -> the third point is a red Cross: It simplified says “Sites” is not mail.company.com… Any ideas?
