Apache ProxyPass only if from a Subdomain

I have two servers, both running Apache. Server 1 and 2 are on the same Public IP address. Server 1 has a Network IP of 192.168.1.101 Server 2 has a Network IP of 192.168.1.102 example.com goes to Server 1. That is exactly what I want. I would like for beta.example.com/* to go to Server 2, via an Apache Reverse Proxy. However, I would like only beta.example.com/* to go to Server 2. How would I configure […]

IIS – How to use appcmd to add cache control rules to ARR?

We are using IIS/ARR to act as a reverse proxy which is deployed on Windows Azure, as part of the role startup a CMD file runs which handles all of the configuration. eg: %appcmd% set config -section:webFarms /-“[name='mywebfarm']” /commit:apphost I am having a lot of trouble finding a way to create Cache Control Rules, as shown in this article via APPCMD I’ve searched through all the config paths I can think of but cannot find […]

Apache reverse proxy, redirect requests based on IP addresses

I have a Linux box with 2 NICs. I installed and configured Apache 2 for reverse proxy. Each NIC has its own IP address and I was wondering if there is any way to redirect the requests via Apache based on the IP address that was used to get to the box. For example: eth0 has IP 100.100.100.100, eth1 has 200.200.200.200 If I browse to http://100.100.100.100/AppName/App I want it to redirect to 1.1.1.1 and if […]

nginx proxypath https redirect fails without trailing slash

I’m trying to setup Nginx to forward requests to several backend services using proxy_pass. The links on the pages that lack trailing slashes do have https:// in front, but get redirected to a http request with a trailing slash – which ends in connection refused – I only want these services to be available through https. So if a link is too https://example.com/internal/errorlogs in a browser when loaded https://example.com/internal/errorlogs gives Error Code 10061: Connection refused […]

Plesk bandwidth monitoring with (Apache/Nginx) reverse-proxy setup

I want to build a reverse-proxy setup for static files using Apache and Nginx. I want to use it for Plesk. Normally, Plesk gets the bandwidth information from the Apache logs. Is it possible to calculate the used bandwidth with a reverse-proxy setup? Well, i think the best way is creating nginx logs with the same log_format in the same file location per virtual host and disable apache access log per virtual host (or store […]

Exposing IMAP server to Internet: DMZ or Port Forwarding?

We currently have all our email stored on a Dovecot IMAP server in our internal network. Client machines on the network are able to connect and access their email. Now we want to allow certain users to be able to connect in and view their email from the outside using IMAP. We currently have a firewall/router with a dedicated (unused) DMZ port. The way I see it we have two options: Set up port forwarding […]

WordPress shows only internal IPs

Yesterday, I set up a WordPress “cluster.” Now I have a problem: WordPress and stat-plugins only shows the users as internal IP addresses like 10.0.0.2. My nginx configuration is: upstream backend { #ip_hash; server 10.0.0.3:80; server 10.0.0.2:8080; } server { listen 80; server_name bloggingsite.org; location / { proxy_pass http://backend; proxy_redirect off; proxy_set_header Host $http_host; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; # client_max_body_size 10m; # client_body_buffer_size 128k; # proxy_connect_timeout 90; # proxy_send_timeout 90; # proxy_read_timeout 90; […]

Salt server on 403 error

i have a frontends server with nginx, this serve the static content, and forward by proxy_pass the rest. I have a problem with the backends servers and this return 403 error randomy, this is in another question. For a immediately solution, i want only pass if apache return 200, i now have: /etc/nginx/conf.d/upstreams upstream balanced { server 10.15.1.10:80; server 10.15.1.11:80; server 10.15.1.12:80; } And in the virtuals: server { access_log /var/log/nginx/myweb.access.log main buffer=32k; error_log /var/log/nginx/myweb.error.log […]

SSL Reverse Proxy for Flex application using nginx

I have configured nginx to act as a reverse SSL proxy for a backend of Tomcat instances serving an in-house Flex application. The aim is to get an active/back pair. The configuration looks like: |—– serverb:8080 (10.0.0.1:8080) (http) servera:443 (ssl) ——| |—– serverc:8080 (10.0.0.2:8080) (http) (backup) This configuation seems to work well for static html (I can see a “check.txt” textfile on the webroot of serverb, and when I kill that tomcat instances, I can […]
