Does SQL Server 2008 R2 Web edition support CSV and XML export?
Does SSRS in SQL Server 2008 R2 Web edition support CSV and XML export? This info is not included in Microsoft’s feature matrix. Thanks, Adrian I’m not sure if this is supported by SQL Server, but you could always use an external tool like http://www.thewebshopstore.com/tools/db2xml/ Check more discussion of this question. Since our SQL server is Standard edition and cannot do proactive caching, I was wondering if Integration Services can detect changes in a database/table, so it can then process the cube automatically? Or is this wishful thinking? I don’t believe that it will support this natively, but you could do some thing like the following 1) Add a trigger to the table that will set a last modified date value each time the a record [...]

I installed SQL Server Express 2008 with Advanced Services on a 64 bit Windows Server 2008 Standalone. I am setting up the Reporting Services with Reporting Services Config. Manager. As far as I can tell, all goes well during installation. When I surf to the web services URL, http://localhost/ReportServer, I am presented with an username/password dialog. I’ve tried all of the logins that I know about on my box, but nothing works. I tried my [...]

I’ve got a machine that I inherited that runs SSRS 2008. I can’t seem to find IIS anywhere on this machine, yet it’s serving up content over port 80. I look under services and there is no WWW service running. I need to configure a fully qualified domain name for this reporting instance and I am at a loss as to where to start. Does SSRS 2008 run under its own web server? SSRS 2008 [...]

I think I have everything set up for reporting services to work. But when I go to the report manager URL it just says “home” at the top, and there are no options to click properties, etc. The page is mostly blank. I’m thinking maybe windows integrated security isn’t turned on, but I’m not sure how to check or change it. I hope this helps How to: Install and Configure Reporting Services on Windows Server 2008 [...]

I think I’ve looked through all the menus and control panel and I can’t find anything to configure IIS. I feel like IIS is already installed because SQL Server Reporting services has a webpage running and a virtual directory. Check Server Manager -> Roles and verify if you have Web Server (IIS) installed. If yes, make sure you have IIS Management Console installed. Check more discussion of this question. I am having a terrrible time getting this to work. I have configured the SharePoint site and the SQL Servers involved to use Kerberos. That has been confirmed working. I then configured the SharePoint site’s Reporting Services integration (trusted account), enabled anonymous access and enabled report builder. I can launch report builder without any issues at all. The problem comes when I try to save my report. When Report Builder is started Items->New-ReportBuilder Report it [...]

We have a SSRS 2008 server running and doing daily reports for us. Sometimes these reports will fail. The reasons for this kind of failure isn’t so much of importance, as the fact that I haven’t been able to find any way to get informed if there are any failed subscriptions. So my question in a nutshell is: What do you use to keep track of your SSRS installation? and is there some obvious “send [...]

I would like to automate a report snapshot, but there is only an option to take a snapshot in the Report History Tab. All the resources I’ve found suggest I need to go to processing options and select “Render this report from a snapshot”. But I don’t want to do that – when I go to a report, I want to get the most recent data. However daily at midnight I’d like to take a [...]

We are moving to a scale out deployment of SSRS 2008 Enterprise with reporting services running on 2 front ends connecting to the “ReportServer” and “ReportServerTempDB” databases on a separate SQL Server 2008 cluster. Can you run Reporting Services 2008 R2 while connected to the report server databases that live on a SQL Server 2008 (non R2) database server? Thanks, Dan Yes. Both SQL Server 2008 R2 and SDQL Server 2008 SSRS can run on [...]
