vhost setup for multiple SVN repositories on same server

I have 2 svn repos on my EC2 instance. They are located in /ebs/svn/repo1 & /ebs/svn/repo2. I have created a domain alias svn.mydomain.com, to point to the parent directory of above (/ebs/svn). I woud like to access each of the above repo’s using the following URL format: svn.mydomain.com/repo1 svn.mydomain.com/repo2 Currenly I have the repo1 working with the following vhosts config. <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName svn.mydomain.com ServerAlias svn.mydomain.com ErrorLog /var/www/html/log/svn.mydomain.com-log <Location “/” > DAV svn SVNPath /ebs/svn/repo1 […]

nginx inserting extra characters in Multi-status reply body

Here’s the setup. I’ve got one server running apache/php hosting ownCloud. Among other things, I’m using to do CardDAV contact syncing. In order to make things work with my domain I have an nginx server running on the frontend as a reverse-proxy to the ownCloud server. My nginx config is as follows: server { listen 80; server_name cloud.mydomain.com; location / { proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-Host cloud.mydomain.com; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-Proto http; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $remote_addr; client_max_body_size 0; proxy_redirect off; proxy_pass […]

files from subversion repo mounted as DAV, get zeroed out shortly after writing

I have a subversion repo with “SVNAutoversioning on” which usually allows webDAV clients to make changes to files without a checkout-edit-commit cycle, and this works well for some subset of the repository for convenience. In this instance I am using subversion for centralized versioning rather than source control. The server intermittently zeroes out the files, either geany/gedit offers a reload (which I have learned is a no-no) and the file reloaded is empty. I thought […]

Sync local folder with WebDAV

I have a local folder on my Mac that I want to sync with a WebDAV server. There are a lot of files in my folder. After I edit some files or add/remove folders, I want to be able to sync the changes to the WebDAV server, ignoring what it is on the server and always using my files. Is there any script or tool that I can use from command line to do that? […]

SSL on Apache seems to significantly affect WebDAV performace

I’m using Apache 2.2 running on Windows Server 2008 R2 as a WebDAV server for clients to upload large media files (roughly 100-2000MB). I am finding that when I have SSL enabled (openSSL 0.9.8o) and use HTTPS for the uploads the throughput is around 13Mbps but when I disable it and just use HTTP I get around 80Mbps. I can’t understand why this is happening as my understanding was that the heavy SSL work was […]

Office documents on intranet all requiring second login and can’t pass auth? Disable webdav?

I am not sure what is going on, but recently all the Office documents on our intranet get prompted a second time for login and according to the error logs it looks like it’s trying to use webdav to open (an editable?) version of the document to save directly on the server? We have no sharepoint server setup or anything, but this shouldn’t be happening. All I want is for the document to be saved […]

The backup destination specified by the remote shared folder does not exist

I have a webdav share which I mount to my windows 2008 r2 server via webdav (desktop experience feature). Is it possible to backup to this? I get the error: Windows server backu is unable to access the remote shared folder. The backup destination specified by the remote shared folder does not exist. I can’t assign permissions to the share as it’s a webdav folder. Thanks Asked by dotnetdev I can’t assign permissions to the […]

Mac WebDAV Connection Read-Only Issue on Windows Server 2008 WebDAV Folder

I set up Windows Server 2008 (x64) and installed the WebDAV extension to IIS 7 (also x64) and created a WebDAV share. I also created a self-signed certificate and enabled HTTPS on the box – requiring HTTPS to connect to the WebDAV share. I can connect to the system via Vista and connect to the “network folder” just fine. I’m able to connect, create and delete files and folders. Trying to connect via Mac OS-X, […]
